Research Resources Overview

Resources menu items

Researchers routinely search for and produce a variety of scholarly resources as part of their work. The pages under this Resources menu item offer access to these resources in a variety of ways: you can view all posts, view resources by type (see below), category (tags denoting various dimensions of our SGE initiative), or contributor, or view a map of geotagged resources.

In the spirit of social learning, a wide variety of types of research-related resources are stored and shared on this SGE site:

  • Blog resources are primarily text-based research updates, where the resource is the blog posting itself
  • Cmap resources are links to concept maps, generally either process Cmaps visually summarizing relationships between the various actors constituting a situated environmental issue, or perspectives Cmaps summarizing how certain ideas (e.g., scholarly theories or popular attitudes) relate in the context of a situated issue
  • Link resources point to general online resources, such as organizational websites or data repositories, versus more specific resource types (e.g., Cmaps, publications, or reports)
  • Map resources are vital to geographically situated research, and include links to existing online map resources as well as uploaded maps developed by researchers using GIS or other mapping applications
  • Photo resources are still imagery, either produced by our researchers or uploaded from/linked to public-domain sources
  • Publication resources are summaries or discussions involving linked reference works, which the SGE initiative houses in Zotero
  • Report resources include in-progress and final writeups, presentations, and other outcomes related to our situated research projects
  • Video resources are motion imagery, either produced by our researchers or uploaded from/linked to public-domain sources
